VATICAN CITY (AP) Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI s body is lying inside condition while thousands of people lined up hours earlier to dawn on Monday to pay their respects.
The doors of St. Peters Basilica opened for viewing by the condition at fair past 9 a.m. (0800 GMT; 3 a.m. EST) when the earliest faithful entered.
Public viewing lasts for 10 hours on Monday inside St. Peters Basilica. Twelve hours of viewing are scheduled for Tuesday with every one other accompanied by Wednesday earlier to Thursday mornings funeral, which will exist led by Pope Francis, at St. Peters Square.
The frail, 95-year-old Benedict died Saturday morning inside the Vatican monastery where he had lived since his retirement inside 2013, when he became the earliest pontiff to resign inside 600 years.
Security officials expected at least 25,000 people to go by the body on the earliest day of viewing.
